is CDS (Combined Defence Services)?
Combined Defence Services (CDS) is conducted by UPSC (Union Public
Service Commission) twice a year for recruitment in Indian Military Academy
(IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Indian
Air Force Academy (AFA).Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible
for the UPSC CDS exam with certain age limit.
Combined Defence Services (CDS) is conducted in the month of February and November
for graduate candidates. Girls are only eliglible for OTA .After theCombined
Defence Services (CDS) written exam , the qualifying candidates face an
interview conducted by SSB (Staff Selection Board).
CDS Eligibility Criteria
For Indian academy (IMA) and Officers
Training Academy (OTA) : Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
For Indian Naval Academy (INA) : Degree in Engineering from a recognized
University or equivalent.
For Air Force Academy (AFA) : Degree of a recognized University (with
Physics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor
of Engineering.
AGE LIMIT
• Indian Military Academy (IMA): 19-24
years
• For Indian Naval Academy (INA): 19-24 years
• Air Force Academy (AFA): 19-24 years
• Officers Training Academy (OTA): 19-25 years

CDS MARKING SCHEME
ForUPSC
CDSOTA both
English and general science paper will consist of 120 questions each containing
100 marks. The duration will be 2 hours for each paper .
1/3 marks are going to
be deducted as negative marking .
For
IMA, AFA , INA an additional paper of mathematics is held in addition to
general science and English which consist of 120 questions each containing 100
marks. The duration will be 2 hours for each paper.
Same like OTA, 1/3 of the marks will be deducted
as negative marking .
