All the candidates must have one of the below Qualifications

  • A Degree from a, State Central or a Deemed university

  • A Degree  through  distance education or correspondence education

  • A Degree from an open University

  • A Degree from Private University.

  • A Degree from any of the  Foreign University and Recognized by the (AIU) Association of Indian Universities


The Candidates who have been appeared in an exam and  the passing of that exam which would make  them educationally Qualified and  enough to satisfy 1 of the above points.


The Candidates who have been  passed the final examination of the MBBS  but  not yet completed an internship of MBBS


Candidates who  passed the final exam of ICSI and ICWAI and ICAI


 Qualification further recognized by the Govt of india  as  Equivalent to one of the above Qualification

The candidates must have to submit proof of their Eligibilities to a Competent Authority at the Centre || institute ||university || at the time of  Main examination if someone failed to submit than He/she  will not  allowed to attend the exam

First August of the year of the examination Prescribed as age limits which vary with respect to the  caste reservations the candidate has to  attain UPSC CSE at   the age of 21 years.


  • For the General category the upper age limit is 32years  


  • For (OBC) Other Backward Caste the upper age limits is 35 years.


  • For (S.C.) Scheduled Castes & The  (S.T.)Scheduled Tribes the limit is 37 years.


  • For the  Defence Services Person disabled  during the services   the limit is 40 years.


  • For the  ex-servicemen candidates  including the Commissioned officers & ECOs/SSCOs who have joined military services at least 5 years as on 1 August, of the year age limits is 32 

.

  • For ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service, the limit is 32 years.


  • For PWD candidates the Age  limit is 37 years.


  • For Domiciles of JK from 1 Jan 1980 - 31 Dec1989 the Age limit is 32 years.


  • For the (EWS) Economically Weaker Section category the standard age limits applied


【4】Number of attempts

How the much times  a candidate will  appear for the CSE exam are given below 


  • The General category candidates = 6


  • The SC || ST candidates can be unlimited attempt  till 37 years.


  • The OBC category candidates = 9


Appearing to attempt CSE exam  one of the papers in the pre- exam is counted as an attempt which including disqualification ||cancellation. However,the  applying to sit the examination but failing to attend is not considered  as an attempt.
